【World Vegan Month】Pledge to Go Green With Us
2020-10-30

Veganism is going viral and is explosively spreading across the globe. Every year during World Vegan Month in November, plant-based eaters from across the globe gather together to celebrate and promote their cruelty-free lifestyle. It’s also a time to appreciate how far we’ve come and allow whoever curious about veganism to understand key factors in our decision to go vegan and stay vegan!

History of World Vegan Month

Established by The Vegan Society in the United Kingdom in 1994, World Vegan Month was originally established to commemorate the Society’s 50th anniversary. 1st November was marked as World Vegan Day and it eventually evolved into World Vegan Week and then World Vegan Month.

Types of Plant-based Diet

Veganism is not only a dietary choice, but also represents our own ethical system and a perspective to view this world. People may adopt a plant-based diet for religious, health, environmental, animal welfare or other personal reasons. Nevertheless, no matter which diet you adopt, it is an undeniable fact that this move is helping the planet.

Go Green for Planet Earth!

Meat consumption has long been our evolutionary heritage. Being a part of the food chain isn’t wrong and it is natural for humans to eat meat. In order to fulfil our never-ending demand for meat, today’s factory farms raise animals with higher-welfare methods, intensively cram thousands into small sheds and wired cages, inject them with growth hormones to shorten growth period, slaughter calves at a young age for tenderer meat etc. Raising animals for the purpose of human consumption is unethical and industrial farms are probably the cruellest crime in history. Besides, resources are heavily exploited and we will be paying a huge environmental cost for the footprint of livestock.
