2 tbsp (30ml)
  • Cornstarch
1 tbsp (15g)
  • Water
3 tbsp (45ml)
  • Sesame Oil
1 tsp (5ml)
Steps

1. In a bowl, combine all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, apple cider, garlic powder, crushed black pepper and water. Whisk until well combined. If using all-purpose flour instead of unbleached, start with ¾ cup water first and add more if needed. Add the Omni Strips and stir to coat.

2. Fry the Omni Strips in medium heat until golden brown. Do it in batches so the frying pan won’t be packed. Transfer to a dish.

3. Mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl and set aside.

4. In a non-stick pan, heat oil over medium heat and sauté garlic, ginger and red pepper flakes. Add brown sugar and orange juice. Mix until brown sugar is dissolved. Cook until it becomes a syrup. Add apple cider and light soy sauce. Stir to combine. Pour in the cornstarch with water. Stir again and cook until the sauce thickens.

5. Add in the fried Omni Strips in the pan and toss to combine.

6. Transfer to a plate or bowl. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped parsley. Serve with rice if desired. Enjoy!
