Japanese Oyakodon with Teriyaki Chick’n

  • JUST Plant-based Folded Egg
1 pc (57g)
  • Gardein Teriyaki Chick’n Strips
6 pcs (100g)
  • Onion (Sliced)
1/2 pc (55g)
  • White Rice (Cooked)
1 bowl (200g)
  • Vegetarian Broth
125 ml
  • Japanese Soy Sauce
2 tbsps (30ml)
  • Mirin
1 tsp (5ml)
  • Water
125 ml
  • Sugar

Steps

1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and pan-fry JUST folded egg for 5 minutes, flip halfway through. Then, cut into strips, set aside.

 

2. Pan-fry Gardein Chick’n Strips for approximately 5-7 minutes until browned and crisp on all sides.

 

3. Place the sauce pack in a bowl of hot water for 3 minutes to defrost. Then, toss to coat chick’n strips well with the sauce.

 

4. In a pan, add vegetarian broth, Japanese soy sauce, sugar, mirin and water, then bring to a boil over low heat.

 

5. Add sliced onions and cook till the onions are softened.

 

6. Place cooked rice into the bento box and pour in onion sauce, then add JUST folded egg strips and Gardein teriyaki chick’n strips. Garnish with spring onion, nori strips and white sesame.
