Dietitian’s 10-Day Detox Smoothie Boxset

A glass of smoothie is filled with a variety of nutrients. It can fuel you up as breakfast and promote detoxification. The smoothie recipes, designed by Registered Dietitian Celia, are very simple! With the aid of a stress-free box of smoothie ingredients, it will only take you a few minutes to become healthier!

There is no special formula for making smoothies. You can mix and match your favorite ingredients, but the followings are recommended:

Base:  Low-calorie and calcium-fortified plant milk, such as almond milk and oat milk; other light drinks such as rice water and rice milk are also suitable.

Protein: Nuts and seeds are natural sources of protein and fat, which are nutrients that make you feel satiated. High-quality peanut butter and chia seeds are examples.

Fresh fruits and vegetables: Fruits are the keys for smoothies, yet over-adding will make the sugar level too high. Grapefruit, avocado and dragon fruit are fruits that have relatively lower sweetness; You can add more vegetables, such as spinach and pumpkin if you prefer smoothies that are less sweet.

Superfood powder: They are grounded plants that are packed with  antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. They are usually added to further boost the nutritional value of  smoothies. Kale powder, cacao powder, etc. are common superfood powders.

Natural sweetener: If you want to sweeten smoothies without adding syrup, the most natural way is to add dried fruits. The sweetness of date is very intense, thus you only need one for each smoothie.

Making tips:

2. Apart from chia seeds, blend all the ingredients and pour into a glass. Add the soaked chia seeds at the end.

Nutrition tips: After soaking in water, chia seeds swell, become gel-like and taste like sago in traditional sweet soup. This smoothie has far lower glycemic index than the traditional ones as the fibre in chia seeds helps slowing down the absorption of sugar and stabilising blood sugar level.
